Social Media Plan

First Social Media Platform Utilized

By the end of the semester, increase awareness of free sexual health screenings at IU
Wellness by 25% among students through TikTok, by creating and sharing weekly educational
videos on sexual health, including HIV/STD and pregnancy screenings, with a focus on engaging
and informative content. This will be tracked using TikTok's insights to measure reach and
engagement (views, likes, shares).
Increase IU Wellness's Facebook page likes and engagement by 15% within two months,
by posting bi-weekly informative posts about the benefits and availability of sexual health
services, including patient testimonials and tips for maintaining sexual health. Engagement will
be tracked through Facebook Insights, measuring likes, comments, and shares.
For choosing TikTok and Facebook, TikTok is highly popular among younger audiences,
especially college students, making it ideal for sharing bite-sized educational videos that can be
both entertaining and informative. Facebook, on the other hand, has a broad demographic
reach and is commonly used for community engagement, which suits the goal of promoting a
wellness program to students and faculty. I chose these over the other options because they
offer the best combination of reach, engagement, and the ability to provide relevant, easily
consumable content for your target audience—college students. TikTok offers viral potential
with creative, engaging videos, while Facebook provides a well-established platform for
informative posts and community-building activities.
On TikTok, you can post short, creative videos, such as quick informational tips, student
testimonials, or fun challenges that engage your audience while educating them on sexual
health. Aim to post during peak times when your target audience (students) is most active, such

as late afternoons or evenings, and make sure to use relevant hashtags like #sexualhealth,
#IUWellness, and #FreeScreenings to expand your reach.
For Facebook, you can share longer, more in-depth content such as event
announcements, program overviews, success stories, and updates on available services.
Engaging with students through polls, Q&A sessions, and comment replies can help foster
community interaction. Posts should be scheduled in the late morning or early afternoon, when
students and staff are most likely to check Facebook between classes or during lunch breaks.
